books for a new vegan

I was a vegetarian on and off (don't judge!) for a good long while, but made the decision a few weeks ago to go vegan. So, I'm still learning what i can/cannot eat because of hidden ingredients and such. Though I think it's just as hard,if not more, to deal with non-food items.

But anyway, I just wanted to get some books for beginner vegans. ( Read more... )

I would suggest the book Vegan Freak. It's not recipes, but rather helps to keep you positive about how and why veganism is important.

Although I do enjoy their cookbook (as a chronically lazy person ;)), I'd be wary of that list. Many things have been found to not be completely vegan. It's a good start (it certainly helped me as a confused, hungry new vegan), but I'd still check ingredients.

OP, it's a process, and I promise it gets easier- you'll start to learn what's vegan and delicious soon enough. :)
