I was a vegetarian on and off (don't judge!) for a good long while, but made the decision a few weeks ago to go vegan. So, I'm still learning what i can/cannot eat because of hidden ingredients and such. Though I think it's just as hard,if not more, to deal with non-food items.
But anyway, I just wanted to get some books for beginner vegans. Cookbooks etc.
I know there's plenty of awesome websites for vegans, but sometimes i just prefer books =p I'm going to be getting Veganomicon, The China Study and Skinny Bitch from the library tomorrow. But I'm hoping to get more in the near future :) I feel that I need to read up on a lot of stuff to be more informed on veganism 1) for my own health 2) so that i can better explain to people why I've chosen to go veg 3) to 'debate' with people who think I'm insane and stupid.
(also, i cook a lot at home for the family. But my mom is not able to eat soy and beans due to an illness. What other sources of protein are there for her? thanks!)
