date place in the bay area?

My partner and I are celebrating our 6 month anniversary this weekend (we're both vegan), and I was hoping for some suggestions for where to go in the SF bay area. I'm pretty well acquainted with most of the restaurants around here, but it might be nice to try something new/special. Something in the East Bay would be a lovely plus.
I'm hoping to find something sort of in between Herbivore and Millenium (ie. a little. bit fancy, but not so much that we won't be able to afford dinner for the next week after we eat there).
Any recommendations?
