Soy Intolerance

Mar 16, 2009 20:22

I've noticed I get sick when I eat certain soy products, such as fake meats and dairy. I get bad headaches and nausea, sometimes to the point of throwing up. This has been happening for a while but I've only just made the connection. However, I drink soymilk daily and have tofu several times a week, and don't have any problems. If this is linked to soy, I don't see why I would have a reaction to some products but not soy milk or tofu. I believe the fake meats in question contain protein extracted from soy... Is it possible the soy milk and tofu just don't contain enough of the protein for me to react?

Some of the products I noticed making me sick are Cheezly cheeses, veggie sausages (Sanitarium and Vegemeal), Sanitarium roast and Soia cream.

Any thoughts? I will obviously stop eating these things, but I don't understand why I am fine with tofu and soy milk but not other soy products.
