wedding dilemmas
This year has been a big one for engagements in my family, with both my sister and my boyfriend's sister being proposed to in the past few months. (Awwwww, or bleeeeurgh, depending on your point of view.) While it's a bit early for me to start predicting I'll be a bridesmaid to either of them, I'll still be involved in some way, and I may as well be prepared just in case.
What I'm curious about is if any of you have had any issues regarding being a vegan member of an omni-heavy wedding party. Has the bride ever insisted you wear leather shoes? Has the groom demanded you wear a silk tie? Are there problems with cruelty free makeup or going on a big squealy arm-flappy beauty spa marathon for a hens weekend at a resort that uses animal products? I'm just not sure what I should be prepared for, so it's good to be armed with all the knowledge I can early on to get all the issues out of the way. Any stories would be great. Cheers!
