Toronto Vegans - Opinion on Pizzaiolo and delicious treats

Mar 02, 2009 15:25

I'm visiting Toronto soon, and am pretty sure I'll want to get pizza delivered to my hotel room while i lounge and take advantage of their pay-per-view movie selection. I'll be staying near the financial district (i think?) near the intersection of University and Queen. At any rate, I saw that Pizzaiolo is nearby, delivers, AND has vegan pizza.  Is ( Read more... )

pizzaiolo is pretttty decent. there's one right by my work and i get it far too much for my own good.

greenavi (on queen, in between bathurst & spadina) has a delicious vegan cheesecake. their coffee is amazing as well, and their entire menu is completely organic and fair trade. highly recommended!

also recommended is sadie's diner on portland & adelaide (just a short walk southeast from queen & bathurst). it's all vegetarian/mostly vegan. my personal favourite menu item is the breakfast burrito but they also make some pretty tasty smoothies--and i believe their coffee is also fair trade, but i'm not sure about organic?

i could probably come up with more suggestions if i weren't so brain dead. toronto is a pretty easy city to live in as a vegan and i like eating out far too much for my own good.

no probs! it's a really nice place, really chill atmosphere and it's owned by the cutest little asian family.
and if you have any other questions about toronto i'm happy to answer! toronto's a pretty fun city in my personal opinion.

you are probably right -- as much as i love greenavi, most of their pastries are not baked on premises (something i forgot to mention) but from other bakeries around toronto. i just mentioned because i love the place/i live in the area so i go a there a lot. plus i love the idea of an all organic/fair trade coffee shop so i try to plug the place as much as possible because i really want it to thrive~

oh, and i definitely meant to mention both those kensington places! seriously, in general kensington is a great place to visit (besides tasty vegan food, it has some great vintage shops). so, seconded on those.
