q for the cat people out there
I have something of an urgent question for the cat people out there. In the past few days, I've noticed that my cat started having swelling on the side of his neck. I can't afford to take him to the vet until the weekend (payday), so I thought it would be okay to wait. Yesterday I saw he had a small red rash on the bump... and today the bump is larger and his skin has started scabbing and spreading (this is bigger than it was this morning). I don't know if it's because he's been itching it. The bump is pretty soft and squishy, like fluid is accumulating, but doesn't hurt him when I press on it.
Does anyone have an idea of what this is- I'm freaking out and trying to scrape $$ together so I can see the vet sooner; knowing what this is and if there's anything I can do to stop it would help. He seems entirely fine except for this freakishly large, scabbed/oozy bump.
