I have many people ask me why I've joined this site when I'm part of the anti-vegan community. Here is my response.
I’m new here, I’m not vegetarian, nor am I vegan. I eat meat but I don’t consume a lot of it and I prefer that my food is free range and organic.
I have many friends that are vegetarian and vegan, we get along just splendidly but there

"but do we have to be so malicious and down right cruel to get our points across?"
-its hard for me not to say anything to this comment... b/c at least for me the whole foundation of my veganism is based on living cruelty free... a lot of times i think meat eaters only are sensitive to themselves or humans, and not animals as far as cruelty is concerned. when someone is cruel to you (who is a vegan) as a means to express their point, i think it's a means to show you the cruelty that you are doing to animals. IMO i'd rather be yelled at than skinned, or slaughtered, but you get what i'm saying. to ask for no cruelty as a meat eater arguing morals with a vegan, you can also see how this would seem hypocritical to a vegan, right?
Anyway, I won't do the thing where i ask you a bunch of general "what would the meat eater" do sort of questions. My whole family consumes meat and meat products, and we're all people... since i've been veg and vegan, they've learned more about what they put in their bodies and have made some small but valuable changes in how they live/what they buy/support/consume.
i'm glad you joined this group! and i hope that you'll be able to learn some more information, and hopefully change any of your outlooks, prejudices and/or generalizations about vegans, and what veganism is (it's not just a diet btw!).
Cheers! and stay strong, we can argue hard with each other (vegan to vegan), so be prepared for that, esp as an omni.
