I recently found out I am pregnant. I have been vegan for about ten years so I am pretty good at eating healthy so I am not really concerned about that. I think the most stressful part of this is doing it without the dad since he is so not interested in taking care of a child

Also, Silk soymilk has a new version with vegan DHA (though not EPA).
Maybe you could use these to supplement a vegan prenatal.

A pre-natal vitamin with DHA and EPA is not necessary. According to Dr. Sears, a leading pediatrician, vegetable oils (primarily flaxseed, soy, and canola) are also rich sources of omega 3 fatty acids, with flaxseed oil being the best.
Just continue to eat a well-balanced diet!
*Dr. Sears has some amazing books that you might want to check out: The Baby Book and The Breastfeeding Book are just two.

Mostly my family misunderstands. My mother didn't understand why I would breastfeed instead of giving my baby formula from cow's milk. That blows my mind. So I told my mom "The only cow my baby is going to sucking on is me." hehe.
A couple years ago my grandmother told me I better quit this vegetarian thing before I get pregnant because she thinks raising a kid vegan would be child abuse. I have not told my extended family yet because I am already a bit stressed and the last thing I need are the lectures I have gotten extended to the "You're killing your baby." I don't really want to hear it.

The other day I watched the Darjeeling Limited and all the indian music made me crave indian food and I was so crabby until I ate some. In fact I have had severe nausea and food sounded so gross. Everyone says no spicy food but that was the first meal I was able to eat without feeling awful and getting sick afterward.
