Dentists?

Dec 27, 2007 10:34

I just went to my dentist and my previously cavity prone teeth (they're softer than they're supposed to be because I was sick when I was a baby or something) have been cavity-less since I turned vegan almost a year ago. YAY! Proof that you don't need milk to strengthen your teeth. Psh.
Anyway, the dentist then told me that I was the perfect candidate for this teeth strengthening paste, so long as I wasn't lactose intolerant. This paste, you see, is derived from a milk protein and the pamphlet was plastered with cute stuffed cows. Amusing.
I lied and said I was lactose intolerant because my dentist is a very opinionated and outspoken man who probably would have given me crap. But, it got me thinking. Is there such a thing as an organic/vegan dentist office? I've never seen one that advertises itself as more than "natural" (which my dentist does) which obviously means nothing. Any thoughts? I'm from the Chicago area and google isn't helping me out at all.
