I haven't a clue where this post will fit into recipes, but I've been a member of this community since 2004 and all of the advice is nothing less than fantastic. I'm currently 3 months pregnant, and a vegetarian of about 10 years. I ALSO have a gluten allergy! No fun when you're pregnant and want to eat pita bread with your hummus ( Read more... )

Hummus is the best ever. I wish I could buy it in gallons, seriously!

Morning sickness is a bummercloud because it lasts ALL DAY. I could only eat fruit for about 2 weeks. I'm almost 13 weeks now, and the sickness fades in and out. It's not pleasant but I can eat a little more. I'm not sure if they are vegan, but preggie pops are amazing for morning sickness!!!

I love preggie pops! I read the ingredients and they seemed perfectly vegan to me. The sour ones especially help. They are even made with essential fruit oils so, score!

Beans!! Beans have lots of protein, fiber, and iron. I've been practically living off of bean burritos lately...

Thank you for the reading suggestion! I will definitely pick it up this week. Sounds great.

I definitely don't plan meals ahead, especially being pregnant, haha. However, mama raised me right and I'm not a picky eater. I'll try anything once, and I have a rice cooker. I need to experiment with rice. I like rice when it's sweet. Mmmm!

"Feeding your Vegan Infant - with confidence" actually covers pre-pregnancy for both parents, through to pre-school: http://www.vegansociety.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=242

The author, Sandra Hood is a UK registered vegan dietician. In the UK at least, anyone can call themselves a 'Nutritionist' without any training or certification, but the term 'Dietician' is protected.

I'm basically just reiterating my previous commentary here, but BUY the Joy of Vegan Baking and make the cheesecake and pancakes. Amazing, and completely satisfy my cheese cravings (well the cake does).
