Christmas Menu

Dec 13, 2008 13:08

I have been searching for an interesting Christmas menu and I haven't had much luck.
Are there any favorite and delicious dishes that anyone has cooked or seen that may be of help?
Thanks!

I am always a winner with a nice hearty broth mushroom soup or a great winter vegetable root veggie soup.

Or make the usual Christmas favourites: mashed potatoes, assortment of veggies and for the "turkey" make a nice stuffed portabella mushroom with a rich wine sauce. Or even a good lentil loaf can go far.

Thanks! I like the sound of the lentil loaf and the mushrooms.

For thanksgiving, I made stuffed acorn squash and it was amazing. Here are more ideas from the same blog! Enjoy!

I would also check the tags for other holidays - Thanksgiving, Easter, etc. (Especially Thanksgiving - this year there were a lot of posts that garnered great recipes in the comments) Do you have something particular in mind? Something that was traditional in your family that you're seeking to replicate ( ... )

Thanks! The thing is we are cooking for my bf's parents and they like alot of traditional English dishes so I was looking for something that wasn't roasted veg again. Something to make it a noticable holiday, every time they are over we have what they like/are familiar with, roasted veg and veggie sausages.
I'll def run this one by him, it sounds awsome.
