So I tried making some chocolate chip cookies that vega posted a while ago (from the memories). They came out....odd. Like they puffed up and looked really nice, but then when we went to eat them we found out that they were just a shell....
This is the recipe:
Hint O'Cinnamon Chocolate Chippers
(The Everyday Vegan Dreena Burton)
1/4 cup - all purpose flour
1/2 tsp - baking soda
1 cup - ground oats (I use oat flour, you can also ground up oats in a food processor)
3/4 - cup sugar
1/3 - cup chocolate chips
1/4 tsp - cinnamon
a pinch of salt
1/4 cup - water
2 tsp - pure vanilla extract
2 tbs - canola oil
Sift the flour and baking soda together (sifting does help) and add the rest of the dry ingredients and then the water and vanilla and finally the oil. Bake at 350 for approximately 15 minutes.
And here is what they looked like from the top:
Perfect!
But then....we picked them up. The underside:
Not sure if you can tell but it is really just a "shell" the chocolate chips in the middle are really the only raised parts.....Has this ever happened to anyone else? It was just so odd, and I have never seen it before, so I thought I would see if anyone might know what could have caused this. Thanks a bunch!
