in terms of cheese, i really like Follow Your Heart's Vegan Gourmet cheeses. at high heat, they melt really well (and sometimes even brown!)

Follow your heart or tofutti slices. yum!

I just had some fajitas made with the new morning star chicken strips. They were soo good. They would be great in a sandwich. I didn't see them at whole foods.

re: Chickettes: I would imagine you'd be looking in the frozen section, but the best thing is simply to ask a member of staff.

re: TVP: How odd - I've always found TVP chunks in the bulk section of our local co-op, and the granules secreted away somewhere (I don't use the granules anyway). Again, a member of staff's your best bet.

If Whole Foods don't carry either of those items, do you have any other whole foods store or co-op in your area?

re: cheez: I've not been impressed by any of the packaged versions, including Follow Your Heart. I have thoroughly enjoyed some homemade ones - The Uncheese Cookbook: Creating Amazing Dairy-Free Cheese Substitutes and Classic "Uncheese" Dishes by Joanne Stepaniak has been a good friend. kittee has a Bryanna Clark Grogan uncheese recipe on her website in the pizza section that's gorgeous (actually, if you haven't bookmarked her site, you should).

absolutely.

as for the other stuff, you might have to ask your store to order it in for you. (or order it from the internet. possibly bulkfoods.net or is it org?)

because whole foods tries to stock only WHOLE FOODS, ie. natural things. morningstar farms is chemical, processed garbage.

huh, not the ones by me. and i'm really surprised they would elsewhere! there whole emphasis is on healthy, organic, whole foods, hence their name - but i guess it varies by region. *shrug*

I'm with you on this... I've never seen anything unpronounceable on the packages at Whole Foods.
