"Yeah, ok," Ved simply replied to Cloe as they sat in the
Main Cafe all alone. He'd turned in his chair to see what had happened, a scream, a fall, people running around like crazed headless chickens, and then his brothers calm voice, telling them to stay back, everything was just fine. How could he? How could he just get up from being accosted by the big oaf who's married to the head cheif of this tribe and just turn right around and...and belong to the Tribe again? It made Ved sick, he was so mad, the last thing he cared about was some virt who had taken a tumble down the stairs, secretly wishing inside that they'd die, just to weed out some of the more useless virts in this city. He didn't know who it was, but still, he didn't care all that much.
Turning back to Cloe, Ved stood up and held out his hand, "Come on babe, let's get outta here. I can't take one more minute of these..of this stuff," he wrinkled his nose and helped her out of her chair, leading her by the hand to the bedroom, thankful that it was so nearby. As they entered their room, Ved twirled around and pulled the curtain closed. "Hope you don't mind, but all of those promises earlier, and the festivities are obviously over, well," he moved in close and put his hands on her hips, giving her a soft kiss before pulling back and giving her big, sad, puppy dog eyes with a small pout. "Course, if you want, you know, I won't stop you from checking on whoever fell down the stairs," he motioned to the curtain with a nod of his head, looking back at her with sadder eyes. "You know, sounds like everything's ok though, they'd surely be screaming and crying a lot more if whoever was really hurt, right?"
