Ved stormed out of
The Hospital and right past the decorators, gah a wedding, lame. He didn't even like this Amber chick, she was ok and all, but she'd ruined his life when he was a Techno, when they'd taken her from the testing facility, he'd gotten in so much trouble, and now she thought she was the boss of him. He only put up with any of this because of Cloe, because he loved her, and because Jay implored him to. Jay...big brother, where was he? Ved stormed up the stairs and stopped, glancing around the Cafe, averting his gaze from anyone hanging around and through to the kitchen where he grabbed an apple and turned back around, walking just as briskly back to the Office Complex with one quick stop in the room he shared with Cloe to get his laptop, bypassing the giggling, clucking girls gathered in and around Gel's room.
He didn't realize until he got back in the Office Complex that he was feeling tons better, he'd just gotten up and stormed around the Mall without a hint of nausea, and the apple actually felt good in his stomach. As he pushed the door to his darkened lab open, he glanced around, wondering if anyone had found this yet. The Hen's Night had happened directly across the hallway, he could tell now by the decorations around the doorway, and that kind of made him feel nervous. Would they care? Would they be happy? Would they even know what it was? Ved flipped the lightswitch on the wall, waiting as the grow lights came on around the edge of the room, over his various seedling sets. He stood there, leaning against the door, eating his apple and contemplating everything he'd just heard. He'd check the water levels in a bit, but for now, he could relax, and maybe he was hiding, but he had a lot to consider.
Ved moved to the desk in the room, sitting down in the large, comfortable chair, and set his laptop down carefully. He plugged himself into the wall and turned on his laptop, crunching away at his apple while it powered up. He stood up and walked over to his trays, checking the water levels, which were all still at reasonable levels, there was nothing to do today but turn the lights on, but he could hide back here, hide from the girly activities going on, the quiet, hide from the insanity that was stupid virts. Ved plopped back down in the chair and started up the trace program, typing in a few key sequences. It would be a lot of work if he wanted to trace things, and if he was worried about it he'd work fast, but what harm could come out of it? Even if some Technos were running it, they'd probably be glad to hear from Ved again, he could surely help them with this endeavor, it'd be something to do that didn't include rotting away in virtland.
