(no subject)
I've seen this fanfic request meme three places now (researchminion, yahtzee63 and kerlin) and it looks neat. Even though I still have half-written sense of place stories cluttering up my notebook, and no free time.
Here's the deal. I'll write a list of ten things I'd love to see in a fic, from vague to specific. If you answer one of my requests, post it with a link to your own list, and I'll write you fic in return.

And to which I add: I'm kind of combining this with the "fannish confessions" meme. You'll see, once you see the requests. This is not necessarily the respectable face of fandom.
1. Krycek/Marita. (XF) Do you know how long it seems since I read a K/Ma story? Ages. And sure, I could write one myself, but that would defeat the point of the exercise. At this stage, I almost want happy babyfic. Really.
2. Sark/Lauren. (Alias) Oh, you know he loved her. Come on. Show me something, here. If you want, show me whether she loved him.
3. Susan/Talia. (B5) There probably is a lot of this, but I haven't found it, and I haven't been willing to wade through archives looking for it. I'd really be interested in a post-series encounter, but I can tell that I'm about to expose my abject ignorance, because I moved some time in the middle of Season 5 and never did see most of it. I missed large pieces of season 4 as well. So for all I know, Talia's death was reported in some episode I never saw. Oh well.
4. This isn't an unpopular pairing, but it's something I'd like to see: Sol and his religion. (Deadwood) It can't be easy being the only Jew in Deadwood (if indeed he is the only one).
5. Allison resfic. (Alias) Is she really dead? She can't be dead. She had Rambaldi-juice for blood, for goodness sakes.
6. Was there a lot of post-finale Wesley resfic? I didn't see much, although it isn't the kind of thing that would come up in my circle. Anyway, I won't request this, because I do have some pride, and I'd hate to inflict that on the universe at large. Instead I will do the respectable thing and request Irina, alive in the current season of Alias. We all know she's not really dead. I'd really like a story where Jack did try to kill her, and believes that he succeeded, only to find out that he's failed. Hm. That's an interesting plotbunny. Maybe I should write that myself.
7. I'm not fannish about Patrick O'Brian's books (I don't seek out fic or write about the universe), but I do not accept Diana Maturin's death. Major denial. As far as I'm concerned, she and Stephen lived happily ever after. I don't have quite enough respect for O'Brian's purposes to accept that bit of canon. In my secret universe, Diana also figured out that Stephen was a spy.
8. Summers family reunion. (X Men/Buffy). You all know that I'm just doing this meme to request this story again. Barbecue and the phrase "while you were dead." I actually found a version of this crossover last night, and oh, was it awful. I cannot even begin to describe how awful it was. You know how sometimes you try to read a story, and you manage about two sentences before having to put it down and walk away? It was that bad, but I was desperate. I tried to keep reading, really I did, but the story defeated me. I was nearly weeping in pain by the time I gave up, and it wasn't because the story was working.
Please, save me from my baser instincts. Write this story for me. I will sacrifice babies to you if you do.
9. Jack and Jack. I'm thinking Alias and 24, but you could actually do a whole set of "any two Jacks" stories, and that would be a kind of funny idea. Mix-and-match Jacks. And putting any of them in a small enclosed space with Jack from Will & Grace would be worth the price of admission right there.
10. OK, this is a strange idea, but bear with me, because I think it would work: Highlander/Firefly. Seriously. A lot of the HL characters, and especially Duncan, would slide right into that universe, and do pretty well. And it would be an interesting way to examine the way the passing centuries have changed him, and anyone else who was in the story. I'm not sure you'd even need to bring the characters from Firefly into the story. I just want to see Duncan in that universe, really. This is another story I might write myself, someday.
Now that I've written this meme, I feel rather selfish. So these aren't really demands for fic (although my birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, and yes, I really am that selfish after all). They're just plotbunnies I'm throwing out there, and I'd be happy to talk about any of them. I might write them, or maybe one of you will see something that hooks your interest. Whatever--there's no pressure.
