Travel
So on Friday PLB and I are doing the aeroplane thing again - this time travelling to Greece. We'll be visiting my aunt in Thessaloniki and then heading down to Halkidiki for a few days.

If anyone on the f-list has any recommendations for eats, drinks, or places to see, they will be gladly received.

Last time I was there was in 1993. I have very fuzzy memories at best. I put it down to the August heat. 25 degrees and May showers sounds much better than you very much.

Food
Manage to eat way too much Pocky - a box of mango, and a box of matcha (with a few swapped out for
zabimitsuki's doub choc ones) gone in 24 hours... before our pocky buying bender, and long before we tempted ourselves with magazines in Japan Centre (and didn't fold on), we went out for dinner - had bibimbap, kimchi cabbage/cucumber/daikon (daikon is my favourite), sweetened cinnamon drinks, and what I hoped was going to be crispy seaweed (which, I have discovered is not actually seaweed at all, but is made from fried kale), but instead got sheets of nori on a stick 0_0. Still tasty, just not what I was expecting.

Avocado Chocolate Cake
Parsnip & maple syrup cake
Sweet Corn Kakiage with Green Tea Salt
Crispy Seaweed

Bisibele Huli Anna (hot, spiced, lentil and tamarind rice)
Jamie's Tray Baked Chicken Maryland
Asparagus and almond 'risotto'
Warm salad of samphire, asparagus and scallops
Thai chicken & nectarine salad with lemon-grass dressing

Other random
1. I'll be back late Wednesday, so by then there'll be a decent weather report to plan (or cancel) any post-Expo picnic plans with
tachishini,
magic_in_flames,
zabimitsuki and co. The early bird entry for Expo does sound appealing - let me know what time you're all intending to get there....

2. I've lost interest in the playing house - well, in so much as when I discover the work done by worky people is actually still pretty damned rough, and what I was hoping I was paying them for just does not Meet My Standard of Excellence, I have neither the energy to have a shit fit in their direction, nor to fix it myself. Thus, the lounge room walls are going to have to remain in a state where the paint will never sit flat, and you will always be able to see where the old shelves used to be, because I cannot be arsed sanding them smooth right now.

3. It sounds like we've got new people upstairs, so I assume this means the place is owner occupied. It sounds like they've got a little girl. D:

4. See you all on the flip-side! xx
