An interesting article in the Huffington Post about the Hobbit movie and its critics: Dislike Peter Jackson's The Hobbit? Then You Don't Know Tolkien. I don't agree with everything the writer says (LotR is not and has never been an allegory!) but he makes some very valid points. [Spoilers for those who don't know the book]
