Contractor Mistakes
I made a few stupid mistakes in dealing with a contractor today. Thankfully, everything worked out okay, but going forward I'll definitely be mindful of a few things-
1) Always get the estimate in writing. The more detail, the better.
2) Always get a receipt and detail of warranty.
3) Always negotiate when they ask for cash.
I wound up paying more than I should have, but that's my own fault. I'm not terribly concerned because I feel they did a quality job and I liked the guy. Also, it's coming up on my favorite holiday, so I'm in a particularly kind mood.
