I've been gone pretty much since December 1, with only a night here and there in Dallas. It's been busy.
My brother graduated from Texas A&M Friday, December 12. My folks and I drove down to College Station that morning to sit for two hours, being impressed and entertained by the announcer's ability to correctly (and seemingly fluently) pronounce hundreds of names, many of which, particularly for the doctoral degrees, appeared to be nothing more than a random collection of constants with a vowel or two thrown in to fool people into believing they're legitimate names.
It was interesting being on the other side this time around, as my graduation was in the same place, and generally appeared identical.
I love photography because it gives me something to do when I'm bored. I was certainly bored sitting through graduation a second time, but moving around and actively trying to create images made the time fly by much quicker.
That evening we went to a great Mexican restaurant, La Bodega. I had crawfish enchiladas, which were delightfully tasty and spicy. I would highly recommend it for my CS LJ friends. The evening ended with dragging my mom, aunt, and brother out to Northgate for a quick bar-hopping tour. First stop: Dry Bean Saloon. I bought everyone Blowjob shots, and yes, I watched my mom do a Blowjob, as disturbing as that is. (But hey, she's danced on my stripper pole, so I'm no stranger to being in awkward situations with her)
It was a bit sad leaving College Station, because now I don't have much of a reason to visit, so I don't know when I'll ever be back. Maybe I'll go down with Michelle for one of the football games- that's one thing I never got around to doing (yes, I'm a bad Aggie...)
