[See Slick. See Slick's stupid mage outfit plus stats.]

Alright, I don't -- [SOMEWHERE BEHIND HIM THERE IS A RUSLTING] Fuck, hang on.

[See Slick casually drop the SFC into some grass and take his trusty stupid mage staff to investigate ( Read more... )

I think you are the first person with a mage class that I have seen traveling alone and killing their enemies by beating them with a staff.

Also, did you just damage your SFC? There are not many people here who know about its workings, so if you have it may be difficult to get it repaired.

[Spades Slick is just too cool for parties. He ignores that though and frowns at his SFC once he collects it.]

Looks fine. Won't be much of a loss if it breaks, anyway.

Even if you prefer not to communicate on it much, there are times when it would probably be to your benefit to have one available.

[Hmm. What would convince Slick that the SFC is useful? It's not quite as effective as a mage's staff for bashing damage, after all.]

If nothing else, the listing of the current residents is accessed through the SFC. If there are people you'd want to be alerted to their arrival, regular checks should be enough to warn you.

Deuce and Droog can keep tabs just fine.

[Ewwww checking the SFC is like working. Working is dumb and stupid.]

Then hopefully their remain in working order. And you don't find yourself needing to make an emergency call to anyone. Though I guess you could always try using someone else's.

They'll keep. [Surely Droog wouldn't let his suit get trashed, and if the thing is in his pocket, well, there it is. CREW LOGIC.]

I'll be sure to ring up all the fussy troll kids with my fucking starfish next time I'm in dire need of some bothering, don't you worry.

[Surely Slick doesn't mean to imply that the SFC might not keep, and instead spoil like some organic edible...?]

Oh, I am not worried about that. We are all quite capable of providing the residents with bother at any time, and if certain topics come up for very long times afterward...

[Kanaya just caught the use of the word "fussy". She is no longer quite as amused, and simply stares at the screen for a moment.]

[No, Slick is just incapable of using words properly.

Except for "fussy," evidently. Oh yes, riling up small children is a great hobby.

Have a smarmy grin, Kanaya. His amusement is barely contained.]

What?

[It is the greatest of all hobbies. Kanaya is unimpressed by this choice of hobbies, however, and it is surely a testament to her lack of taste.

A quandary. How to respond? Clearly he's hoping for her to be openly irritated. Slick seems to draw amusement from Karkat's antics after all. Perhaps it's best to avoid the trap and respond in kind.]

Oh, I was just wondering if you can really afford to chat with me at this time.

[Any emphasis on the last word is imagined.]

[Don't sass him, little girl. Slick trifles not with sassy women. Woman, sure. Plural, no.

His grin drops into a frown anyway, because being a time mage is DUMB. To prove he certainly has all the free time he will ever need, though, he casually takes a few steps backward and has a seat atop the fallen bear.

See. He's very capable.]

I ought to be asking you that. I know you troll kids like to screw around and get nothing done.

[Don't you miss the pleasant hours of Operation Regisurp, Kanaya??]

[video] Oops. This is part of why Kanaya will later be speaking more cautiously with Snowman. ;) meddlefussyfang June 18 2011, 04:33:46 UTC
[True. That bear is good proof of his ability, given that he really probably wasn't supposed to be able to do that. And he's traveling alone, which means no healing mage to provide support. This doesn't achieve intimidation, but the point is made.

Snarking at Slick is not providing the same kind of entertainment as some trolling her usual targets. What if she decides to tone it down a bit now.]

How else did we have the timechance to perfect our skills at bothering people?

[Given that much of Kanaya's time during that episode was spent breeding frogs and having a crisis of self-confidence? No, not really.]

[He is a man of many talents. Which is to say, very few, but he's really fucking good at them.

Slick has never wondered how it is possible to look bored while sitting on top of a bear corpse and he also has not stopped to wonder if Kanaya has wondered anything similar. Regardless, he gives the SFC the flattest, most bored look he can muster. Skipping the wondering entirely.]

Should've known that kind of drivel had to be cultivated.

[Boring.]

[It is easy to look bored on a bear corpse, if defeating that bear was no challenge and a challenge had been hoped for. But no, this is not a matter has ever given consideration to. Nor is she giving consideration to the question now, as she easily assumes that an expression of boredom comes as easily to slick as his expressions of anger. They are probably not even mutually exclusive.]

Unfortunately I believe only a few of us were naturally talented, the rest had to develop our trolling skills. Fortunate that our messenger program of choice readily enabled such activity.

[If you're bored it's because you're boring Slick. If you want excitement go set some buildings on fire... Oh wait.]

[Slick being angry or bored or both at any given moment of his entire life is basically something one could feasibly assume with no problem, that is true. Anyway, that comment actually earns a somewhat amused sneer. Wow, insulting the trolls amuses Slick, what a surprise. Surely everyone is shocked. This is groundbreaking.

Anyway.]

Survival of the most obnoxious. You kids are out of your damn minds.
