[And being The Cheshire Cat, the Cat has absolutely no qualms in appearing just behind the twins, seemingly from thin air. The ears perched atop of his head twitches as he smiles widely.

There is a duck under his arm.

It quacks.]

Sixpence for a pet duck, if you will. How can you resist an offer like that?

[hogochou]

...What. Subaru looks at the ears atop of the Cat's head. Blinks once. Blinks twice. Then shakes his head. "I'm sorry but we're not interested in pet ducks right now." Though the duck did look kind of cute.

[hogozei]

No.

[he doesn't even look at the duck, merely giving a firm glance at Cheshire Cat's face]

I'm more interested in an explanation for this place.

[unbid]

[A laugh. His ears twitch.]

But what if there isn't an explanation at all? What if there are just pet ducks? How might you act then?

[hogochou]

Ah, a dodgy sort of person. "We would still like to find and exit to this place. Besides, you're here so there can't only be pet ducks."

[hogozei]

Don't be ridiculous. [... so not in the mood for this, cat]

There's clearly human presence here... even non-humans. [that's right - he's glaring right at you]

Even ducks themselves would give sufficient ideas about this place, their behavior or manner of survival.

[unbid]

Oh? But how do you know that I'm not a pet duck? I could be one in disguise, you know. A very good disguise, but a disguise nontheless.

[He laughs. Brandishes the duck. He holds it up to Kamui cheerfully.]

And? What does this duck tell you about the place?

[hogochou]

"That is true but a little bird is telling me that you're everything but a duck." Subaru is quietly amused by how much the Cheshire Cat seems to like teasing Kamui.

[hogozei]

[Kamui glares for a little while, then just gave an irritated sigh afterwards]

Idiot. How am I supposed to communicate with a duck?

If one pays enough attention and study their behavior, they will be able to tell if this place is flourishing or reeking in complete misery. Animals have keen senses, they would know where to pass or to avoid.
