An underwater city. It appears that was what was in front of them. The sight of water again brought Kamui's gut to turn a little. But he remained calm for now. He slowly turned to check his twin's condition, walking over a little hastily to him.
Subaru. Are you all right?
A tiny part of Subaru wonders if the worlds enjoy adding salt to still open wounds. He knows that Kamui and himself are a little bit sore when it comes to that subject. Here they are, surrounded by water all around.
I'm fine, Kamui.
Subaru gave his twin a reassuring smile.
What about you?
Kamui doesn't reply to that, he merely closed his eyes for a moment. He seemed uncertain about something.
He lifted his hand shortly, but was suddenly greeted by an odd sight of a tatoo. He also noticed the two fairies floating by them.
His eyebrows furrow.
... What is the meaning of this?
Then Subaru notices them too. The tatoos are not that difficult to overlook once you're close enough.
The little glowing balls make Subaru let out a curious noise, reaching up to run his fingers along the steady, soft glow.
You're not going to help us, are you?
The silence is all Subaru needs to hear as affirmation.
Kamui glared at the floating lights, but his interest moved away when they seem to be useless. Just seeing them do nothing, he already knew that they're not going to give them answers.
But there was something else that felt off.
And after a longer pause, Kamui realized it. For some reason, his body felt lightly weaker. It came to him.
... Something is hindering our dimension access.
Well, that? Was troublesome. But nothing they wouldn't be able to deal with.
I've noticed. ...We should find a way to gather information. Or contact Yuuko-san.
But something told Subaru that it was going to be very, very difficult. Maybe they should start by asking someone about this world. What it was called.
After giving Kamui a short glance, Subaru took a look around, scanning for people they could ask.
