Hmm... [Tech's quite a hobby of his as well, but this isn't anything like the fonic technology he's used to... and he could be overanalyzing this little device in his excitement. His face flushes a bit.] Well if it is basic, I'm sure I'll be able to get it working sooner or later.

[The coral? He glanced behind his shoulder to look at the giant glowing formation in the center of the plaza. Given what he had been told already this evening, it did make some sort of sense.] Someone had mentioned to me that there was a "god" of sorts that ran things around here. [He nods his head in the direction of the coral.] I take it that's the god?

[Those curses don't sound too appealing. Although that explains why there's so many children around here... was there a possibility curses were permanent?

He starts at the last statement.] So, wait. Everyone has access to these communicators? [Fascinating. That's why there was such a multitude of people in the videos he had been viewing. That also meant that, if Luke was around here, Guy should be able to find him.... well, if Luke had the patience to use the damn thing. He chuckled at the thought.] That's excellent to know...

Ah, my apologies... [He extends a hand up to the stranger.] The name's Guy Cecil. Thank you for your explanations, it's been very helpful.

It's generally know as the entity Lamufao, but I wouldn't call it a god. [That's just something the natives referred to it here, no so much everyone else.]

That's correct. Everything is sent through the network that the communicators are linked to. The network is more or less a server for the local populace. Any communicating device you have prior to arrival doesn't work here because it's not synced to the network. If we really are from different worlds, it's unlikely you can contact anyone at all outside of the network.

[Sven greeted mutually with the handshake.]

Sven Vollfied. I help run the Defense Force here, if you have any complications feel free to ask me. I do my best to assist you.

I see. [He'll have to remember that - he's been hearing lots of conflicting responses about this coral, but the important thing is that it's the one with the power over everything. God or not.]

Ah, so the network in and of itself is confined to a local frequency, I imagine? [His thumb presses to his lips as he thinks.] ...not that I wouldn't love to try to contact someone I know, hah. But the reality is that signals do have their limits. I'll have to make the best of what I have, then!

[He hesitates, then his grin picks right back up. Smooth.] Besides. The person I'd be looking for should be within the city already. It's just a matter of finding him. [He'll stay positive about this until proven wrong, by jove.

A nod of the head to Sven - his voice takes on a more formal tone completely by instinct.] Nice to make your acquaintance - I will have to keep your name in mind. I haven't had too many troubles [Well, outside of the ones he was causing himself based on sheer overanalysis...] but I will be sure to get a hold of you if anything arises.

I'll show you what I was referring to. [He'll dig for his own SFC- and there it was.

On the menu screen he selected the Contacts option and passed it over to guy. A long list of names were there for anyone to see.]

One last thing. If someone you know is sent back, you'll be able to tell because their name wont be on that contact list.

Ah, thank you! I had fiddled around with it before, but I was wondering what... it...

[He trails off halfheartedly as he scrolls through the contacts list. He's fascinated at first and spots his own name pretty quickly on, but as he scrolls through, he fails to find Luke's name anywhere on the list.

A long pause. The SFC is handed back to Sven, and Guy's voice brims on the edge of concern when he finally speaks up.]

How likely is it that someone who is not on that list would still be in the city...? Any chance at all?

[Sven took a hold of if.]

Unlikely. If they aren't on the list, they're back home.

[Since they were on this subject though. Sven might as well mention the strange mechanics of this place.]

They probably wont even notice you're missing either. My partner had been here for four months before I came here, but we're from the same point in time. I only saw him seconds before I suddenly woke up here.

It's also not unlikely someone from your world will arrive later. New arrivals occur toward the end of the month and the very beginning of the next.

Hmn.

[He's not that worried about the others missing him - they can take care of themselves - but he'll have to keep that in mind.]

...I guess I'll have to keep my eye out, then. A good friend of mine was in danger moments before I blacked out... heh, but if things do work as strangely as you describe, I guess I'll just have to be patient and hope that he'll be alright for the time being, right?

[The smile's back on his face, almost as if he's practically dismissed whatever was bothering him. But damn it all if he doesn't believe the words coming out his own mouth.]

Thank you for your help, Sven. I think I'm going to go find something dry to change into... [He gestures vaguely towards himself, still sopping wet, and grimaces.] It's not the most comfortable situation to be in, haha... ah, but I'll be sure to stay in contact.
