Jack wasn't too far away. Right nearby. He had been miserable himself for quite some time. But to see a fresh new youth (one that he hadn't met), slumping around. It was nice to know he wasn't the only one moping around Vatheon. Jack approaches carefully. As if perhaps not to startle the boy too much.

"Excuse me." He calls out. Walking up beside of this pale haired fellow. He needed a good reason to begin talking to him. That hand! He was pretty good at patching people up and making sure they were all right.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry to seem rude but.." He gestured toward the hand slowly. "Could I take a look at that?"

Bakura looked up, blinking as he returned to reality. "Eh? Aaaa--" he faltered a moment. "It's fine, really! No need to worry!" he attempted to assure, giving a bit of a smile.

"Are you sure? I-i have seen some pretty mangled hands before! I was just going to take a peek. I promise to wrap it right back up!" He was really concerned that a boy so young would have his whole hand wrapped up so heavily like that. Perhaps it was just Jack being paranoid. But that hand really didn't look spectacular even wrapped up.

"Otherwise.." He put on a charming smile. "You look like you have something on your mind.."

"It's been taken care of, really, it's okay!" Bakura attempted again, not at all wanting to have to explain how he got the injury the bandages were hiding. At least to the doctors he'd been able to pass it off as an accident, tripped while in his game room, went to stabilize himself while he was falling and accidentally pushed his hand through the tower. He wasn't quite sure how much they believed him, but they'd let it drop...

But if this person saw and started getting concerned... he didn't want to have to push people away, but if he didn't....

He looked down slightly, expression betraying his worries a moment before he forced himself to smile again. "Aa-- just... I was just thinking of something, that's all."

[Rue notices the bandages first. She remembers this boy, though only vaguely. She remembers him running from her, she remembers continually approaching him--

Again and again, but for what?

Did...did she hurt him? Did she do that to him?

She sees the shine of the ring, but...it does not entice her the way it did before. She keeps her distance at first, wondering if she should turn away now before he notices her...]

[[It takes a moment before Bakura looks up and notices her, his non-bandages hand moving almost on reflex to cover the Ring. If his chest were healed enough, he would have quickly tucked it under his shirt, just to get it out of sight, just in case!

But she looked... different somehow. The way she held herself, the way she was hesitating. The Ring's voice had been acting strange up there, maybe she had been under the same spell...?

Still, he says nothing. He can't afford to be too friendly with anyone, not with the Ring's voice still lurking somewhere. As much as he wants to...

His right hand tenses slightly and he looks down, expression utterly betraying his inner turmoil that bordered utter depression. He couldn't do it. He had to stay apart from everyone, he couldn't put anyone else in danger!

Even if being alone hurt so much...]]

[It's too late.

He's seen her, she knows he has...and though that would normally make her run even faster, she draws closer to him. Slowly but surely, as if she's trying to talk herself out of it--but evidently a large part of her wanted to make some ammends. Or explain things.

It wouldn't be right of her to leave things like that, would it...? She speaks softly, as if she's afraid her voice will injure him further.]

...

Does it hurt...?

[[It sounded like a trick question, even though he was sure it wasn't. There was no way she could know what he was thinking, after all.

He shook his head slightly]]

Not really.

[[It wasn't a total lie. As long as he was careful with his hand, it was fine! If he forgot and tried to use it, however...]]

It's already been taken care of, it's fine, really. [[puts on a bit of a smile, trying to assure. Last thing he wanted was someone worrying over him.]]

"All of what for what?" Silver himself had just finished up a few kata's with his sword when he'd overheard the other. Quickly he slung the sword back into the sheath on his back, then scooped up his jacket and tied it around his waist. Normally, he wouldn't have bothered, but he knew that of late he'd been fairly antisocial unless required not to be, all but ignoring the SFC too. He blamed it on the lingering feelings of discomfort at being drawn back to the stupid, moronic bubble halfway though his fight with Lance.

Nonetheless, he indulged his curiosity and headed over.

Bakura startled at the question, not having been aware at all that someone was there. "Aa! Nothing!" he said quickly, forcing a smile. "Didn't realize anyone else was here, sorry!" he apologized, getting to his feet. Best to get away before anything could happen....

"Hmph, for nothing, you answer quickly." Silver might have been a jerk, but he was a jerk who knew, mostly, how to read people. It came in handy in pushing their buttons and knowing when he was hitting the danger zone. Also mostly in pokemon battles as well.

"Stay; I'll be gone soon enough." It was true enough. He had other things to do, mostly.

Bakura looked to the side, not quite sure what to say before slowly sitting down again. "Sorry..."
