"It varies."

Mitsuhide tipped his head back and stared up at the dome above. He thought through the many curses he had experienced since arriving; odd, that so many of them were probably forgotten now. Once he had remembered each very clearly, but when you got used to them the more simple ones tended to get lost amongst the more dramatic memories.

"Perhaps it is best if I give examples? Once, we had toy ducks rain from the sky for a week. That was harmless, and rather fun once you got used to it. There was a time when we all woke up in masks and costumes that we could not remove. Then there was a fortnight where we got odd weather, which was in fact welcome. You do not realise you would miss something as simple as rain until you are denied it for so long."

He lowered his gaze, looking at Kohaku once more.

"There have been times when we have been attacked by odd creatures and put into real danger; things called 'dinosaurs,' and 'zombie mermaids.' The latter were eventually defeated by a blazing heat that I got caught in; it made me ill for weeks. I have heard that before I came here, there were curses that altered personalities too."

Mitsuhide laughed quietly, then, and rubbed the back of his head. He began to look a little embarassed.

"I can distinctly remember the time I was affected by a curse that meant I could not speak normally, only sing. I greeted many people that way."

No, definitely not despir sickness. Kohaku was relieved at that, but she also couldn't help the giggles she tried to suppress as she heard about things like raining toy ducks. Imagining them only made her giggles worse.

"T-These are so silly ..."
