If you're trying to get away from James and Lily, then you're not in luck, today, Padfoot. Lily's out for a walk in the park as well, the snow making her think of Hogsmeade and making her miss home quite a bit ( ... )

Sirius' head poked out of the most recent snow drift he'd jumped into and looked over to Lily. With a smile he clambered out of it and trotted over, his spirits much higher than they had been when he arrived. When he was almost there, he changed back, his hair wet from snow much like his fur had been.

"Lils! Hey there. Come to romp in the snow as well? It's cold, but it feels good."

Lily laughed, taking a few steps forward to meet him.

"I came to walk in the snow, but a romp does sound like much more fun."

She threaded her arm through his and started walking with him through the snow.

I quite enjoyed just watching you play."

He laughed and shook his head a little.

"It's just a nice way to get out a bit. Be a bit more active, you know?"

He kept the comment about being happy for Lily being happy to himself. It was a nice thing to see her smile again.

"So, where are we walking?"

She nodded.

"Yes, I've been spending a lot of time out in the snow. I love it out here. Everything looks new. It feels like starting over."

She hugged his arm, resting her head on his shoulder for just a moment. It had really been stupid to avoid him, knowing how little time they had left.

"I haven't the faintest. I thought we might wander off into the woods or something."

He smirks. "Sounds wonderful, I think I like walks that don't have a purpose the most. Makes it more interesting."

Whatever it was that had been bothering her and James, he hoped it was solved. She seemed happier, at least. The curious part of him really wanted to ask what had been going on, but, he also didn't want to bring anything up that might start the mood all over again.

She walked close to him, enough so that he might notice that it was a bit strange. But she didn't care. No, nothing had been solved. Nothing could be solved. Best to make the most of the time they had. Lily's eyes were a bit teary, and she blinking away the tears. If he asked, she just might tell him, but no. Nothing good would come from that.

She sighed.

"I've been going on a lot of walks like this lately."

He's quiet a moment. He notices the closeness and debates saying something. Finally he glances at her and speaks without a questioning tone.

"Because of whatever's been bothering you and James."

Lily's brow knits. It really was stupid of her to think that he wouldn't notice that something was wrong. She nods.

"Do you want to tell me or will I have to wait longer?"

Her eyes fill with tears, but she keeps eye contact with him.

"I don't want to tell you."

She pulls him into a hug.

"But I don't want to keep things from you either."

He stills in shock but wraps his arms around her when she hugs him.

"Lils....what's wrong? You can tell me."

She pauses for another moment, but she can't keep this from him anymore. Holding it back hurts.

"I know what happens to us. What happens to all of us. Ron told us. James and me."

She tightens her arms around him.

"What do you mean 'what happens to us'? You mean...back home?"

He knew there was something off about Ron, but that was pretty much it as far as the boy went.

"He's from eighteen years in our future. He's my son's best friend."

"You're son? You and James have a son? That's brilliant! So, then, what's the problem?"
