[Despite the natural reaction of being annoyed at such an unwelcoming question, Eridan tries to keep up his otherwise 'happy' exterior. He wasn't really in a bad mood today, in fact he was in a better mood than most. He was prepared to deal with Karkat in this state, and so he wasn't going to let little things like that actually get to him, or cause him to argue. Because as much as he wanted to spend time with his moirail, as much as he didn't want to be lonely himself, he also kind of really wanted to try and cheer Karkat up.]

[He knew this wasn't something the Cancer was simply MAD about, he knew it was greater than that, and he wasn't a complete asshole, he wanted to do what he could to make his moirail feel better.]
