Characters: Sango, Kirara, and whoever shows up Location: The plaza, near the coral [see what I did thar?] Time: Late afternoon Style: Whatever you'd like! Status: OPEN
[Those are two faces Hubert hadn't expected to see again, though there's something distinctly off. He conceals his surprise with a straight face as he approaches, but not before taking a towel from a local, as much as he doesn't want to. It's a favor for Sango and Kirara, he reasons.
When he comes close at a respectable distance, he stops and offers her the towel without a word. Little does he know, he's no more than a stranger to them.]
[The mild surprise and confusion in her expression probably don't tell him much either, all things considered. In a completely unfamiliar place she was far less willing to trust people but... she was really wet.
Finally she tentatively takes it, looking at him a bit suspiciously.]
[Not much, indeed, except that it's a little odd. Is something about him different to warrant that confusion? When she takes the towel off his hand, he rests it on his hip.]
. . . I'm merely returning the favor.
[He didn't do it for the sake of being nice. Really.]
Though, I hadn't expected to see you or Kirara again.
What are you talking about? How did you know...? [She glances down at Kirara, but she didn't seem to be responding either positively or negatively to this person. She goes quiet for a second.]
[ . . . And she just lost him. There's the furrowing of his brows to show for it, when he realizes that she doesn't know him. No recognition whatsoever.
This is a dilemma. But it's a dilemma he's grown accustomed to.]
It seems you've forgotten, though that's no fault of yours. I am Hubert Ozwell.
Hubert? Uhh... [This was awkward. Apparently she doesn't need to introduce herself, but his name didn't ring any bells and despite any possible dangers she was very curious about what he was talking about. She had dealt with memory loss on the other side of things...]
[He can't answer until he finds out what she's forgotten, since it's unlikely she'd only forget him for a freak reason. Fixing his glasses with his right index finger, he responds with a question of his own.]
There are locals, but a portion of the population consists of foreigners, including myself. Like you and Kirara, I arrived to Vatheon in a similarly wet fashion.
[He looks up, as though he's musing on the answer.]
The locals neglect to give us what we want most: Information.
[Then he lowers his head to face Sango again.] That is, exactly why we are here . . . and what happens to those who disappear, only to reappear the way you have. You and Kirara had been here, once, before the two of you vanished. And it looks like you bear no recollection of your previous stay, which was when we'd met.

What exactly did I forget?

Is this place familiar at all to you?

No, I don't remember anything like that. Er... sorry.
How did we "disappear"?
Reply
You simply vanished. I doubt anyone was around to witness how. One day, you were there; the next day, you were presumably sent back to your world.

[She frowns thoughtfully.]
Do you know anything else? Like, how long were we here?
Reply
I hadn't much of an opportunity to know you, but the two of you had been present for at least a month -- most likely longer.
