[[Unlike her friend, Rose was a much lighter sleeper. And so when the quilt covers her, and she finds herself considerably less chilly, she rouses from slumber with a few confused blinks. First she examines the quilt, which she didn't remember being there, and then John, whom seemed none the wiser. Sitting up slightly, but not enough to disturb the boy on her shoulder, she glances around.

And that's when she notices Soul and freezes.]]

Can I help you?

[.... oh. The girl's awake.
In response, he just shrugs.]

You shouldn't be out here alone.

I'm not alone.

[[Pulling her half of the quilt a little more around her shoulder.]]

I am accompanied by my friend here.

I meant you both.

[Mind you, he's not even looking at her while he talks, opting to just sit there with his arms resting on his knees.]

It's dangerous.

I was under the impression that this city was not so bad. I have yet to truly meet anyone or anything that would rouse suspicion of danger in me.

Shit happens all the time here. The city was attacked by ghosts at some point.
People were killed.

It's not the locals I'm thinking about.

[[That quiets her considerably as she loses herself in contemplation and thought.]]

We have been fine so far.

So far might not cut it all the time.

One thing that will is knowing when to accept help.

[Especially since this is his job, Lalonde. B(]

I have yet to deny any offers, as you have yet to make any.

mauvesympathy March 3 2011, 00:24:16 UTC
I don't need to say anything to make the offer.

[Aaaaaand he's quiet for a second.]

... You two need a place to stay.

If you do not stay anything, how exactly would I know you are extending help?

[[And now she's quiet a moment.]]

I will admit, a room would be pleasant. Are you making a suggestion?

I got enough room. [shrug!

And now fiiiiinally looking at her. The look on his face?
Not intentional, but it is ~brotherly~. And protective, but that comes from the whole ~it's his job~ thing.]

...I would hate to be a burden.

[[That look causes her to glance away, unsure really of what to make of it.]]

mauvesympathy March 3 2011, 00:36:25 UTC
You're can't be a burden if I made the suggestion.

[And with a little grunt, he stands up and brushes off his jeans before shoving his hands back in his pockets.]

C'mon, we're going back to my place.

[[Turing to watch him, she sighs and gently nudges her friend.]]
