Ghost pirates are wreaking all sorts of havoc, so naturally the Doctor is out there, dodging swords and the like in order to get the wounded to safety. He's leaving the fighting to everyone else, although if anyone wants to act as his body guard, I'm sure he wouldn't object. The Doctor would be glad for any help at all, actually.
