Not again. Kageyama stared at himself in the bathroom mirror in a mixture of abject terror and sickening realization. His toothbrush fell in the sink with a clatter as he reached up to touch the mask that once again graced his face. ( Read more... )

"Aibou!"

Yaguruma didn't even bother with the knob on the door--he kicked it in after he heard breaking glass, his face white, barely even flinching when the door swung wide and hit the perpendicular wall with a bang. He ignored the shattered remains of the cup and the mirror on the floor as he skidded inside, dropping to his knees and catching at Kageyama's hands, looking slightly panicked at the sight of blood on his face.

"Aibou. Aibou--Kageyama."

Kageyama struggled against his grip, not even really seeing Yaguruma in his panic to get the mask off. His breath was racing, sharp and stuttered and over Yaguruma's shoulder, he could see TheBee again, flitting in and out of sight.

Yaguruma fought with him for another few seconds before he snarled under his breath and grabbed Kageyama at the collar and around the waist, hauling him up. He dragged Kageyama bodily out of the bathroom, barely feeling the sharp glass digging into his bare feet. Kageyama sprawled out as he dumped him out into the hallway and yanked him forward by the front of his shirt, elbowing one of his hands out the way and slapping him hard across the face. Kageyama fell back, stunned, and Yaguruma dropped him, kneeling over him on the cold floor and gripping Kageyama's wrists tight, pinning him hard as he leaned in and glared into Kageyama's face.

"What the hell is going on!" he ground out, his voice thick with anger, covering up the underlying fear.

The sudden sting of the slap was enough to call him to his senses. Blinking, he stared up at Yaguruma, his cheek slowly reddening, while blood still dripped down his skin from the little scratches he had made with his blunt nails. He did not mind the rough treatment, did not even object to it. If Aniki did these things, he knew he did them before he felt they were needed. "I'm sorry, Aniki. I-- The mask. It won't come off."

He wasn't going to mention TheBee. He knew he had disappointed Aniki often enough already with his constant reaching for the light.
