Thanks to help from Esther's nosy neighbor Cloud, Kagome was once again safe inside of her apartment. After Cloud had carried Kagome there and left, Esther stayed to help her wounded friend. Kagome had just gotten back from a trip to her home world in the feudal era. While she had only been absent for a few days here in Vatheon, it turned out that Kagome had spent quite a bit longer in her dimension than that. During her home stay she encountered an evil demon, whose acid led to the burning of Kagome's feet. The current condition of Kagome's feet left her incapable of walking without an immense amount of pain. Thus Esther felt it necessary to stay by her friend's side until she was all fixed up, or at least until Inuyasha arrived.
Esther helped Kagome get settled in and dried off. Because she had left and returned; Kagome was once again soaked to the bone like all newcomers to Vatheon. So a towel and change of clothes were definitely necessary. Esther didn't mind helping out Kagome this way because it had been Kagome who helped her when she had first arrived in Vatheon.
The pot of water Kagome had instructed Esther to boil was ready, so she poured the water into the large bowl that had been located under the sink. Once that was finished she carefully brought the bowl into the living room and over to the couch where Kagome was sitting, and set it on the table in front of her. Esther didn't know much about herbs so she decided it would be best to sit back and let Kagome do her thing. Esther took a seat opposite Kagome and waited to see if she would need her help with anything else.
"So, those herbs are going to help your feet heal faster?"
