Title: In the Daybreak
Characters: Álvaro and Vina (OCs), Manuel (Chile) and Pedro (N. Mexico) mentioned in the very end.
Summary: Álvaro after a all-night drinking event.
For my dear
zulenha, whom where I heard the rumor of wanting to see Álvarito drunk. :3
Álvaro could see the ceiling is spinning in a most inhumanly way, although he is not sure is this the aftermath of serious alcohol intoxication or just something simply happens due to lack of sleep.
The act of checking the clocks or staring at the dim light that coming through the windows is not needed for him to learn that now is way passed his regular bedtime, which is, he thinks, the source of this unnamed dizziness.
Dear God, he has never stayed up this late before.
He shifts his body, which is rather stiff from lack of sleep, and recognizes the softness, which has been pressing against his body the whole time, is Vina. Her long, black curly hair scatters onto him and the sofa. He could see some of the emptied bottles from the angle he is at, and decides not to count them or to imagine what color would his parents’ faces be when they got home.
Or how is he ever going to be able to get off from the sofa without waking Vina up. That is, if he is able to untangle some of the limbs and hair and heaven knows what. Of course, compares to her talking extremely loud and dancing on the table, having her uses him as a free and maybe not-that-comfortable mattress is literally nothing.
Álvaro just wishes that he can ignore the softness of her body that is currently pressing against his and her breathe that is now tickling his neck.
Furthermore, he probably wants nothing more than letting Vina, his childhood playmate, girl-next-door, and the ultimate drama queen to realize that they have already gone beyond the safety zone where having them sharing the same bed is now a bigger deal than any of their parents would love to face.
God blesses him with unlimited love of his parents. God blesses him with godparents who care and cherish everything that is uniquely his.
And, Álvaro thinks with rather a frown, a peek towards the table has reminded him of the mess that’s waiting for him in the nearest morning. God blesses me with Vina.
The whole drinking thing has been Vina’s idea, which was, as always, her being a little annoyed at her parents at the moment and decided that she would express her annoyance on alcohol indulgence and pulled Álvaro, who happened to be home alone, into it.
He was expecting to have at least some dizziness or headache, if not outburst anger like his Mamá or singing serenade like Papá, and nothing happened. He felt like if what he had drank down was water instead of a glass of red wine.
So he continued, for once under Vina’s encouragement.
They have emptied half of his Mamá’s best wine collections, and all of his Papá’s tequilas, which Vina made some noises over the rather strong taste henceforth he consumed them all.
And now he is wondering why did he even start it. Taking care of a drunk Vina is definitely not the best thing in the world in his personal opinion. And oh dear, she was loud, and for a moment Álvaro was actually worrying if she would start to strip her no-so-many-in-beginning-with clothes down.
She was laughing, too. Especially every time after he dodged one of her drunk kisses. She just laughed some more at it like if this is a fun thing to do and tried to kiss him more, this time on the mouth.
She tasted like a bottle of 1984 Trapiche Chardonnay. Álvaro doesn’t even know that his mamá ever bothered to keep a bottle of any Trapiche.
Maybe he is just too tired to remember that, maybe he just needs to sleep for a little for the dizziness to go away so he can think straight.
Maybe he will do that, after all, that sounds like a very good idea.

Manuel and Pedro are not really sure what should they be surprised of upon their late returning home: seeing several trash bags full of emptied bottles that look like remains of their alcohol collections or their neighbors’ no-so-little girl, who is obviously just awoke, is hanging on their son like a sloth and asking for breakfast.
That bottle of 1984 Trapiche Chardonnay Vina found is a Treaty of peace and friendship gift from Martin. Manu never felt like drinking it so it was always there until Vina. lol
