A number of people have been asking me why the protest was schedueled on the 1st at the same time as the new immigration protest. (First of all, I really don't know who came first, as an aside.)
I just heard a *rumor* from a fairly reliable source, so I'm passing it on to you.
As some of you have heard, George Clooney will be speaking allong with others at the march on Washington today. The rumor proposes that he asked Chicago not to join in the related protests around the nation, but rather hold off until tomorrow. Tomorrow he'll be speaking at the protest at the Federal Plaza at 4:30PM (brilliantly just as people get off of work or are in the city for the immigration protest, really...). This could explain why Chicago is the only city with a delayed rally date.
I thought you'd want to know.
Now I want to borrow someone's camera. Instead I'm going to go get some postboard and markers. And see if the Anarchist rally is still on.
Anyway, I really would love it if people came. (Take a half and hour lunch and just pop out of work a bit early...). If you want further details, look at an earlier post or call me. :)
I'm going to an art exhibit afterwards if you're intrested.
