(no subject)
Much has happened over the last two weeks ..... high speed data issues, Phoenix, graduation ceremony, flying, good food, grand canyon, Tucson, Jataka Tales, Morning Raaga, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Waqt, document reviews, dentist appointments .... Finally things have slowed down.
Morning Raaga - I enjoyed this movie. Shabaana Azmi and Lillette Dubey - how can it go wrong ? :) A well told story without any airs. I am bored of watching Perizad do/say the same thing in movie after movie after movie though ....... Thankfully the movie did not revolve around her. Waqt was another movie I liked. The melodrama at the end could have been toned down a little ..... but I am willing to ignore the climax for the rest of the film. It was fun to laugh out loud with a theatre full of strangers.
Then there was The Hitchhikers Guide To the Galaxy. We were standing in line when I realised I had'nt taken my towel !! Unforgiveable I tell you :) Waiting for the movie to start turned out to be the most fun part of the whole excersize. I didnt expect to be wowed by the movie but didnt expect to feel so let down either. Everything was different from how I pictured it ...... and not "different but interesting". I have this amazing CD I got from oldhen a few years ago that has Adams reading out passages from the book. I love that CD. I guess putting faces to those voices was more than I could take.Sigh.
