The other day Joseph was in the bathtub (taking a bath if you must know) when suddenly he flipped over into his tummy. Since this was a first, my wife and I were at once excited by his bold action and afraid that he would aspirate large quantities of water and die a quick, excruciating death right before our eyes. Luckily, our fears were allayed when he merely sputtered once and began scooting all over the bathtub on his belly, occasionally putting his face into the water and taking it back out again without incident. I have a really good picture of him reaching towards the reflected image of himself in the overflow drain cap, but I probably won't have it posted until he's been in college for a few years because I have no time and I suck at posting pictures in a timely manner.
Today Joseph almost crawled. I have a picture of that, too. :)
Also, I'm reading Einstein's book Relativity: The Special and General Theory with an introduction by Roger Penrose, and so far I can say definitively that Roger Penrose is a dreadful writer and both he and his editors should be given 30 lashes each in a public square for their troubles. That said, the book cover is very pretty, which is why I ordered this version in the first place. Perhaps cover art is not an appropriate part of a rubric when ordering a book one actually intends to read.
