some things never change

this just made my day. i love food related anything, and getting to drag and drop little food bits onto a plate = contented sigh! i couldn't figure out how to link to it, but cnn.com has a java based game on their site today, "Create-A-Plate". Basically one of those calorie awareness things, you drag and drop a typical American day of grubbin' onto a plate, and voila it calculates the damage. the selectable foods are the average American food choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. for example dinner's choices consist of a motley crew of fast food take out (chinese and pizza). then there are the classic staples of chicken, green beans, broccoli, mashed potatoes and gravy. and for lunch? a tuna sub, chips, and fries of course.

i picked out what i thought was a typical daily diet of a typical American, and the total came out to over 3k calories and daily values of 189% fat, 234% sodium, and 118% carbs. but hey, i did get 105% of the daily recommended fiber too. :p

make sure you click on the broccoli and green beans. they do a cool rotating wiggly effect while squirming on your cursor.
