Review: Pure Anada lipstick in Nutmeg

I like brown lipstick. I like bronze lipstick. I'm not sure why. I'm not even entirely sure if those lip colours look good on me. But I like 'em. So when Well.ca had a sale on Pure Anada's lipsticks, I thought I'd try Nutmeg as it appeared to be a mid-toned, bronzed brown.

And it was.

I was very excited when I received it because I've had a strangely difficult time finding the right bronze lip product that's moisturizing and won't irritate my lips. I have very dry lips and I live in a dry climate, and to top that off, I have super sensitive skin. The ingredients in Pure Anada's products seem like it would work fairly well for me in terms of not giving me an allergic reaction.

The lipstick tube is standard and plain, which doesn't really get much of a reaction from me, negative or positive. What does bother me about it, however, is that turning the tube to get the lipstick up feel loose. It's not terrible but it makes me feel strangely nervous; I don't like it.

The lipstick itself has a marbled look to it. The bullet is not completely uniform as there are swirls in the colour. I'm not a lipstick expert and I've only just gotten into wearing lipstick so all I can say is that my four other lipstick bullets are all uniform throughout. Nutmeg applies fairly smoothly and mostly opaque. It is neither hydrating nor drying and does not have a strong scent. It's a frosted bronzy brown that I really really love but it emphasizes my lip lines and fades quickly. Because of its lack of staying power and the fact that my lips have to be in perfect condition for it to look good, I'm probably going to just use it for layering. I'm a little sad because the colour is beautiful and exactly what I wanted.

I can't recommend Nutmeg but I hope Pure Anada's other lip products work well.
