I don't post to this journal often since I don't hold much truck boring people to death with the minutiae of whatever game is currently holding my interest. However this non-gaming related event is noteworthy enough to post about - you see I've gone down a notch.
Sound's terrible doesn't it? Well not really. You see, it's my belt that's gone down a notch; which means rather than slowly getting bigger on too many hot meals over the years, or the stable but portly status quo of the last year, I've actual shrunk to the point that if I don't pull the belt tighter than it's well worn notch my trousers slip down fashionably but perilously low.
I imagine what has broken this equilibrium of geek diet + 1 hour walking per day = steady weight has been broken by getting rid of all snack food in the flat and replacing it with fruit. Not that fruit is great mind, slightly better than the affront to my palette that is salad, but it's virtue is that I'm not going to over-eat it and if I do it eat it it's good for me. Unlike Ben and Jerry's ice cream, which I have an extra stomach for so I can guzzle a whole pot even if I previously felt quite full.
Obviously I can undo much of this minor victory over Christmas, but one does not eat four course meals every day. Well not this one anyway.
In other news of the gaming related variety, I have got my teeth into a couple of LARPs in the local area, in no small part to the scope for costume creation. Not that my characters are shallow like myself and are only interested in clothes and self-image, but, well actually the Toreador is just that - an excuse to give my old clubbing clobber another twirl now that I am old enough to be of the opinion that night clubs are not just loud, but ridiculously and painfully so.
