Summary:
Primary Major- BA in Music w/ emphasis on Violin
Secondary Major- BA in Spanish Translation and Interpretation
1st year of College: GCC, Gen. Eds (most depressing year of my college education)
2nd year: UA- began classes for a BM in Performance; started music a year later extended my undergrad by a year
3rd year: took music classes & a couple spanish classes, switched to a BA in Music before music classes are no longer the same for BM as BA.
I was afraid that I was gonna be at UA soooooo long because of the Double Degree, and I would've been. But then I fixed it. I switched my BM in Performance to a BA in Music which took away the need for a minor to go with my BA in Spanish, cause that made it a double major. So aside from lessons and orchestra I only have 3 music classes left to take, and then I gotta keep going with Spanish full force. I can be done with both majors by spring of 2011!! That is if I take the full time minimum, plus the next 2 summers, and winters, unless I take 5 classes in the fall and spring I just have to do the next two summers and maybe one winter.
I also want to study abroad. I would like to spend a fall semester in Guadalajara, Mx and a summer session in a Latin American country. I was thinking Mexico fall of 2010. But then that would interrupt my 4 semesters of upper division orchestra I have left to take, as well as lessons. So instead of trying to cram everything into the next 4 semesters, I could make life easier on myself and spend an extra semester in Mexico and not interrupt my orchestra and lesson flow. Yay. And that way in the summers I don't have to take so many classes. And possibly not even have to take a winter class at all. I'm excited. I still wish I had started UA sooner. Then I'd only be one semester off instead of 3. :( oh well. That's the way the cookie crumbles.
