Sheep, movies, and SPN 6.1

I got home yesterday afternoon to an unexpected parcel on my front doorstep. The return address informed me it was from a company called Woot, in Texas, and the contents were an adorable crib quilt, mostly in navy blue, appliqued with sheep. No packing slip to let me know who it was from ( Read more... )

I kept thinking of Buffy Season 7 when I was watching last night's Supernatural, except that I think Buffy was better. I didn't think Supernatural was horrible, but I was underwhelmed. I definitely think the Campbells are up to no good. Of course, I'm not the best person to judge, since I really liked the season one, with its monsters of the week, best. (And I keep getting distracted by Sam's looks - as in, he seems to be losing them. He's getting downright homely and looking older than he is. And then I feel bad and annoyed with myself because I don't like people who are judgmental about other's looks and don't like to be that way myself. Then I see him again and have the same thoughts.)

Honestly? I've never been that much of a Sam!girl. I find JP attractive for about ten minutes per season, the rest of the time, meh. (I think you could show movies on his forehead---when he pushes his hair back.) I'm rarely satisfied when I write Sam, either. Dean, yeah, Dean's easy for me to write. Sam's been ho-hum white bread---aside from the drinking demon blood storyline. I really hope things pick up and that this ep was necessary set-up for what's to come.

Hey! I admit to an impish side, on occasion, but I certainly don't do evil!

Yeah, but you don't look like Mitch Pileggi, either!

It's along the lines of a lap quilt, and it'll be quite interesting on the fish sofa. Sofa pattern is cranberry red, mostly, with outdoorsy-fishing motifs. Quilt is mostly navy, as noted.

Of course, first I must unearth said couch---living room has mostly been walk-through for the last few (hot) months and stuff has accumulated, again.

Especially the good surprise kind! One thing I have missed A LOT since my BFF moved away and my adopted mama passed away is the random bag o' stuff on my doorstep. Could've been anything from articles clipped from a 'zine to an item of clothing in my size discovered while thrifting. So this was really a wonderful gift!

For a season premiere, I was massively underwhelmed, and that seems to be the online consensus as well.

ITA. I admit my hopes weren't high, but it didn't even meet those expectations.

was anybody surprised AT ALL when Sam showed up?

Not really, since they implied it at the end of the last season finale, as I recall.

Show of hands if you think the Campbells are evil/up to no good.

ITA. Especially since they're keeping the female djinn. Um, WHY??

Frankly, I was a whole lot happier when Azazel showed up. It would have made more sense, him and Sam both being loosed from Hell. That, and I wouldn't mind seeing Fred Lehne back on a regular basis.I was very pumped to see FL in the credits, and he delivered as usual (the bedroom 'nursery-replay' was the best scene of the show, IMO ( ... )
