It started with a
ritual pot of tea and
writing about gratitude. Then I knitted a couple rows of the
lace shawl. Danny made
German apple pancakes and we had a game of Cities and Knights of Catan. Then came Miss Marple: The Sittaford Mystery (which I managed to solve), Tullamore Dew, nookie and some spinning for the scarf challenge. Next came three of my guiltiest pleasures-Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 played loudly, Dvorak's Cello Concerto and a glass of merlot-while making a special surf and turf dinner. That included local sirloin steak, not-so-local lobster tails, fettucine alfredo, carmelized mushrooms and caesar salad. An episode of Two Fat Ladies helped us digest. We spent the evening at the Penny Whistle Pub with a delightful, eclectic cross-section of friends, mostly downtown residents unhindered by the snowstorm. It was a wonderful way to turn 49.
