OMFG I thought I was the only person who'd heard of him any more these days. Please, please go, so I can enjoy it vicariously. I've loved him since I was fourteen.

*glees quietly* I just recently got into him through babel, actually, but I'm stoked he lives in LA and still performs locally. Have you heard his newest album?

I definitely intend to go, I'd just rather not go alone. CLEARLY YOU SHOULD FLY OVER AND GO WITH ME, NEVERMIND THAT HE IS PERFORMING IN ENGLAND BETWEEN THEN AND NOW.

he IS?? I must find out more about this. Though I bet he isn't coming any nearer me than London, and that's damn awkward.

No, wait, I lied. He's doing England AFTER Santa Monica. You're in Dorset? Well, I don't know my English geography very well, but his concert dates are here. Not all England, but most of the ones I recognize are Nothern England. Still, I'd travel pretty far for it, if you can manage it!

I was just looking them up. May 3rd in Southampton! I could go to that, it's only a short train ride away.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Ahahahaha, I thought Southampton might be nearer you, but really, my geography is lousy. I'm like "Dorset is in the south.... right? So SOUTHhampton is also in the south... right?" AHahaahahahaha. But. YAY!! We can compare experiences! XD

Southampton's about thirty miles away from me. If I still had a car it'd be a piece of piss - by public transport it should be do-able, just.

and yes, I have Sparks Of Ancient Light. It hasn't grown on me as much as Beach Full of Shells yet, but give it time.

Ah, you English without your cars! But then, if I had to rely on public transport there's pretty much no way in hell I could . . . even get to the grocery store, so. Ahhahaha. Bit more of a neccessity here. I really hope you can manage! :D

And yeah, I feel that way about Beach Full of Shells too, though I plan to give them both more listens between now and then. I only JUST got into him so I'm try to devour all his stuff at once. It's a bit overwhelming. XD But a lot off un. I haven't had this much fun discovering a musician since I got into George Harrison in 2002. XD (Yes, yes, I am Johnny come lately.)

It's a bit of a rediscovery for me. I was thirteen? fourteen? and at boarding school when I fell for Year of the Cat. I had it on vinyl and played it to death and knew it off by heart, and I heard some of his other stuff - then my life got interrupted and I didn't pick him up again till about two years ago.

I think i love him even more the second time round. He's become associated with one of my RP characters, too, and that always intensifies things. But even without that, he's made of awesome.

BOL Wow. That's . . . sort of exactly what happened with me too. Not my RP character but babel's, who of course mine fancies (two of mine do, actually @_@ The first of whom is very loosely based off Paul Darrow, ha!). How ironic! He really is inspiring though, and I'm glad I got into him now because I don't think I would have appreciated quite the way I do now if I had gotten into him when I was younger.

I'm so musicially retarded in the first place though it's a wonder I handle it at all. :D But yes. Very made of awesome. And with the added intensifier is even more awesome.
