So, earlier today I seriously considered hopping in my car and driving to Las Vegas to catch Al Stewart in concert there. I ultimately resisted because that's a long drive and I am lazy and broke, but the urge to which I wanted to go has convinced me I need to go see him in April in Santa Monica. I hate (hate) driving to Santa Monica and I'm sure it'll be hellacious on a Friday evening (though at least that tends to be opposing to traffic), but. I also think I'll regret not going. So, my question is, anyone interested in going to see Al Stewart with me April 24th in Santa Monica? Tickets are $22.50 and I may even be willing to partially cover that so I don't have to go alone. I'm also willing to drive, though I fully intend to leave by like, 4-5pm to get there with plenty of time and maybe eat before. (Concert starts at 8pm.)
Anyway, as 95% of you have no idea who this is and the 5% of you who do live in stupid places like Texas and New Zealand, let me know if you want a crasher course in his music to see if you might be interested in going anyway. He's mostly British folksy stuff, and you might know him from "Year of the Cat" though he's much better than that song.
Anyway, if you're interested let me know. I'm probably going to book my ticket in a day or two and there's a $4 surcharge on all orders, so if we order them together we'll technically save $4, versus if we book them separately and each have to shell out $4.
Um, that's all I got.
