“Clay! No!” Elena yelled as she extracted a blond two-year old from where he’d gotten into and made a big mess with a bag of flour on the floor. Clay was supposed to be watching the twins and instead he had used at least poor Logan as a distraction while he snuck over to check what was on the stove.
“But it needs…” His sentence trailed off at the low warning growl that trickled out of her throat, though his grin never wavered.
“I am cooking, not Jeremy. It. Is. Fine.” She said as she snatched the spoon out of his hand and handed him his flour covered son.
The sharp sound of metal on flesh and a surprised sound from Clay pulled a giggle out of Logan as he wiggled in the one handed grasp Clay had on the boy. “Make sure he’s clean for dinner. And that Kat isn’t getting into anything.” The metal spoon is pointed at Clay in warning, “And stay out until I’m done. She watched as Clay slunk out of the kitchen, all an act she knew, murmuring about a snarly mommy to Logan. Shaking her head, she turned back to her cooking. They’d have a nice, Elena-home cooked meal if she had to chain Clay to the chair herself.
