Ruby & Ginger
I own a both a ‘73 Beetle and a ’73 Karmann Ghia. Today, someone from Lexington came for a parcel, and I saw him standing near my cubicle. He had been wondering to whom it belonged because he’d seen the prominently placed VW chrome badge I’d pulled off a Beetle years ago.
I saw his name “Sam” on his shirt, and he asked my name. I told him and he mentioned he also worked on them. “Sam Y-?” (I’d guessed his last name correctly.) “Yes, I know you. I’ve spoken with you several years ago over the phone about the Ghia convertible you were rebuilding for son. You’d also spoke to my wife about my red Beetle and yellow Ghia.”
Strange to live and move in such small circles and coincidental acquaintances. Had I been 30 seconds later, I wouldn’t have met him face-to-face.
