Annwfn You were so beautiful, but alas the old wise tail is proven true Cat's don't like being wet!
Alas, I started the Beltane weekend with positive up beat mood. With a mellow drive up to Annwfn with a most yummy stop off in Ukiah for burgers before heading up the Green Way. I give great thanks and I ow each of the beautiful people who helped us up track our stuff all the way up Old Fluffy and Peanut Butter Hill you rock! I promise if you show up at our house we will feed and give much liquor in thanks! Seriously!
It was adventure setting up ones tent in the rain and on un-level ground. Once we finally set up the tent we stripped off all of clothes, every single piece that we were wearing was soaked all the way through. We then climbed into a snuggly warm bed ( thanks the Gods for good quality air mattress!) in a mostly dry tent. I thought to myself it is only a little rain and it will blow over this was my positive thought around four on Friday. Once we finally got dry & warm we adventured out of our tent after a change into dry set of clothes to say hi to many of the other very brave people who did make it up the mountain despite the rain.
It was great to see everyone, I wish I had more time to hang out with each of them. my quest for this weekend was to get to know the few peoples that I have only ever meant in passing at a larger party gathering, you know the ones where there are so many people that you only get like five ten min. of each person's time. Well the goddess and my partner had other plans on if we stayed or we left. We retired early, thou I did hear that the drum circle happened that evening while we slept.
We awoke to a down pour on Saturday morning and well my whole positive out look on making this a fun weekend in the woods was well pretty much gone. I turned to Wolf and asked would I be a flake to say that "I want to go home now." To those of you who felt I wasn't very friendly it really wasn't any of you I just came to the conclusion, that I am truly my name sack a cat and guess what? >>>"Cats Don't Like Being Wet & Cold!" Wolf stated if the car wasn't blocked in, in the lower lot we were going home to hot showers, dry clothes and our hot tub! Guess what it wasn't and we collected up all of our stuff , put it in their bags. Placed the the bags up on our camp chairs in our tent to keep them mostly dry and informed the most hospitable and wonderful caretakers that we would be leaving our stuff and coming back when our tracking stuff down the mountain would be A: Be easier, B: do less damage to the road. I am sad to say it didn't get much time to get to know the new caretakers, but we will take care of that with our return to land to collect our stuff and put in some much needed work with land as our offering to the goddess.
On the way down to check on the car Wolf ran into Puzzlefox & Aoibhill who had just flown in from Washington. They had gotten in so late that they had to set up camp down the hill in the rain & dark. Due to these reasons it sounds like they woke up to an interesting morning. Well the other half invited the pretty ladies back to our house if they wanted to crash some where that was dry with comfy level beds, BB&Q, and a Hot TUB! Well let just say we ended up having a most enjoyable Beltane that just moved inside at my house! We stay up late drinking good wine thanks to a wonderful roommate who join the celebration! We ate much bb&q and soaked until the warmth returned to our bones in the blessed hot tub. Following morning I went to breakfast / brunch with the ladies and then wandered over to the Zell's for much hugs with Morning Glory & Oberon! I am excited for Morning Glory's new project which I am going to be involved in " The Goddess Talks will occur"! We also were able to walk down memory land with pictures Morning Glory pulled out of dry Beltane's passed. Then the ladies packed up their stuff and flew home to their much missed sweeties! Hugs! I will come out and visit you guys very soon!! Just seeing you this weekend made me realize how much I miss you. After that all the roomies of "Casa de la Laguna de la Luna"went to do our once a month tradition of drinks and movie. Movie was Wolverine! Sexy Wolverine yummy Gambit, only complaint needed more screen time for Gambit!! Then home to some in door adventures and great night sleep!
