It's been an exhausting month of Senior Capstone class! I worked over 200 hours in 20 days, plus eating, going to the senior capstone CLASS, and doing a wee bit of comic writing. After this 20 days our class went to Miracle Camp, where DREAMS COME TRUE (we mostly slept, tobogganed, and did discussion groups). We in the dungeon built up a sort of comraderie through mutual suffering and through watching the "
Chocolate Rain" youtube video over and over (it just gets funnier and funnier under high stress conditions! It was like the theme song of the project class.).
Luckily, my project was very doable and my partner was great, and it's over. It was also very weird: at the beginning of the month, all sorts of bad things started to happen to people around me. My sister's dorm was flooded by a burst pipe in its attic, ruining most of her electronics and forcing lots of girls to live in a hotel for several days. My roommate got appendicitis and had to be hospitalized, but he's fine now. The floor above me in Wengatz had a bedbug infestation (my room was fine, thank God). This all happened within the first four days I was back at school. I was really worried that something bad would happen to me (and I felt awful for the people that were suffering, of COURSE), and it's good that nothing bad DID happen to me, because I was in no position to handle extra problems.
I feel exhausted. Class this semester should be easy, but the next two weeks will be hairy, because I have comprehensive oral exams for computer science coming up. I also will probably be driving to various parts of the country now and then to be interviewed, because it's getting to be about that time. In fact, though I just got back to school from a three-day break, I'll be driving back to Peoria this coming Thursday night for a Friday interview. Whee........
I feel tired, but I'll just keep in mind that I'm probably over the hump now as far as my major is concerned. A comic is coming soon! The world is a bright and sunny place once again! Praise God!
